Further up, check out the Magic Fountain at night which combines music, light and a water show in a spectacular display.  The large palace at the end of the street which is lined with convention centers is the MNAC, the Catalonia Art Museum, which houses Catalan art up through the mid 20th century. Also close by is the Caixa Forum which features excellent free exhibitions in this beautiful modernista building by architect Puig i Cadafalch. Moving up Montjuïc, you pass Pueblo Espanyol (a bit of a tourist trap, but on the other hand you can compare the different architecture from different parts of Spain in a Disneylandesque setting- loads of tourist shops here). Further on, visit the Olympic Fair grounds and see the Palau Sant Jordi designed by Arata Isozaki. It is said to have the form of a samurai hat or a flying saucer- judge this spectacular building for yourself. Also on Montjuïc is the Joan Miro Museum, which is well worth visiting, the Olympic diving pools (versus the Piscinas Picornell) which have a breathtaking view of the city, and finally the castle on the far side of Montjuïc. Make your way down through the park or take the telefèric (gondola) to Barceloneta where you can sip a cool beer at a bar on the beach. The Hotel Climent is in a 7 storey building with 5 rooms on each floor. The rooms are neat and clean, with minimal decor. They have an en suite bathroom, heating, TV and telephone. All rooms are exterior, with natural light, and are sufficiently soundproofed with windows with double paned glass to guarantee a good night’s sleep. The hotel is well-maintained and is wheelchair accessible. Have breakfast at the bar (included in the price of the room) and watch TV in the large common room.
