The Gracia neighbourhood was formerly its own town and wasn’t incorporated into Barcelona until 1897, and is today one of the most popular nightlife areas with its many options of terrace cafes, restaurants and bars. Considered the original hippie-flower child area, it hasn’t lost its bohemian creativity. Artists, actors, musicians, photographers and designers live and work there. At the top of the zone, and a 15 minute walk from Joanic Apartment is the famed Guell Park, a major attraction for tourists and exercise enthusiasts. Designed by Antoni Gaudi for his patron Eusebi Guell, it was originally meant to be a fully self-serviced residential area with its own market and plaza. Gaudi’s own house is there, and is open to the public. Today people enjoy it as a public park full of curvy, ornamental flourishes, swaying columns, and a long, undulating bench with a great view of the city. Walking down the hill on the other side of the apartment, check out the Sagrada Familia by the one and the same Modernist genius Gaudi. The light-filled Joanic Apartment can sleep up to 8 persons comfortably. On one floor there is entrance foyer, dining-living room, kitchen, washing machine and a sunny terrace. On the floor below, there are 4 large bedrooms—1 bedroom with a double bed, 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds each, and the last bedroom with bunk beds–and 2 full bathrooms.
