  About the establishment

Pension Cortes is a basic, clean hostel located in a beautiful old building in Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, in the Eixample district, next to Plaza Universitat, Plaza Catalunya and the Fira de Barcelona exhibition centre. This area is central and very lively at all times of the day and night, with shops, bars, restaurants, pubs and clubs. A short walk and you’re already on Las Ramblas and in the historical Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter). You’re even closer to the Raval district, which is quickly becoming the hippest part town for its nightlife. There are also loads of cheap eats at curry houses in this area, which is also the most cosmopolitan of the city. Visit the MACBA (museum of contemporary art) and the CCCB culture centre, with its interesting art exhibitions. At night go to Calle Joaquin Costa in Raval for the best bars, including the eclectic Benidorm with its electro-clash and alterno-music selection. ...more details >

Next to Urgell metro station (line 1) and Plaza Universitat, and a few steps away from several bus lines, which connect with the entire city and the airport. Plaza Catalunya is 2 stops from the Urgell station, where you will find connections to metro lines 1 and 3, the suburban trains (FGC), and trains to the airport (RENFE).

Sehr nette Vermieterin, die jedoch nur Spanisch spricht. Einfache Unterkunft jedoch sauber, völlig ausreichend für einen Kurztrip. Mit Ohrstöpsel ist auch der Strassenlärm in der Nacht kein Problem. Ideal gelegen Metro Station Urgell ist direkt vor der Tür. Entfernung zum Busbahnhof nur 3 Stationen mit der Metro. Zum Placa de Cataluyna (Abfahrt Touristenbus) sind es nur ca. 10 min. zu Fuß.

Das Zimmer war ok, aber sehr alt. Die Betten noch älter... Der Herr von der Reception (die eigentlich gar keine Reception ist) konnte kein Englisch. War aber noch witzig, mit Händen und Füssen zu sprechen. Das Badezimmer zu teilen, war kein Problem, wir mussten nie warten. Die Lage ist super, direkt bei der Metrostation. Fazit. Sehr günstige Unterkunft, dafür kann man wirklich nicht viel erwarten.

war eine sehr nette und schöne unterkunft, die hausdame hat uns gleich bei der ankunft sehr wichtige tips gegeben, ganz lieb. war leider etwas laut, da an der ecke zur strasse, aber mit oropax kein problem.

für lärmempfindliche sollte die Balkontür in der Nacht geschlossen bleiben, für uns wars kein Problem. Whgs.besitzer/-vermieter waren sehr freundlich; und die Metro vor der Haustür war ideal. wer mit einfachen Verhältnissen zufrieden ist, dem kann die Unterkunft nur empfohlen werden.

Good location right next to Urgell metro stop. And taxi are available right at the door so it not a problem to get one. Owners did not speak English so it was a challenge in this regard but they were very friendly. I recommend they offer city and metro maps on site and thicker towels.
