La Rambla (also known as Las Ramblas) is a historic Barcelona avenue that runs between Plaça Catalunya (in Castilian, Plaza Cataluña) and the Port Vell (in Castilian, Puerto Viejo), in the Ciutat Vella district. It is an emblematic avenue, with a number of important monuments plus a diverse street life. Starting at Plaça Catalunya, La Rambla is known by different names according to the stretch: Rambla Canaletes, Rambla dels Estudis, Rambla de Sant Josep, Rambla dels Caputxins and Rambla de Santa Mònica. Upon arrival at the sea, The Colon Monument marks the end of the avenue. Along the Rambla you'll find a number of interesting buildings such as the Palacio de la Virreina, La Boqueria market and the Liceu opera house. La Rambla is also known for its human statues, newsstands and flower stalls. You can also usually find stalls selling handmade goods. A multi coloured mosaic.
