Caixa Forum belongs to ‘La Caixa’ - one of the most important financial groups of Barcelona - and it is part of a big social and cultural project of the company.

The building where Caixa Forum is located used to be an old factory built at the beginning of the 20th century and designed by one of the major exponents of Catalan Modernism – the architect Josep Puig i Cadafallch.

When the architects restored the factory they tried to conserve most of the original construction, its colours and details. Even the construction workers hired to up-date the building were specialized in modernist style.

Nowadays Caixa Forum in Barcelona is a majestic building where you can enjoy a wide variety of art exhibitions and shows. In the main entrance a huge tree made of iron and crystal welcomes you to the building. The exhibition rooms are beautiful light and airy spaces where the industrial premises used to be.
