Grilled Lamb

As we have already mentioned, Catalan cuisine features a lot of meat and Lamb is particularly popular and is nearly always present on any restaurant menu whether it be xai a la brasa- charcoal grilled lamb chops or xai al forn- oven baked shoulder or leg of lamb. Some of the best lamb you can try in a traditional restaurant is cooked on an open fire, giving it that flame grilled flavour which is just irresistible, especially when accompanied by a tasty side dish such as Pa amb tomaquet or Escalivada.
