90º angles do not exist in Parc Guell, as all its shapes are organically winding and uneven, similar to stone and lava rivers. The walkways are festooned with fantastic columns that look like stalactites, trees or caves and every single detail shows Gaudí’s desire to blend nature with the man made constructions. There are also beautiful surfaces everywhere covered with colourful ceramic pieces – another sign of the architect’s unique style.

The centre of Park Güell is a huge square with amazing views of Barcelona . Around the edge of the square is a 150m long bench that bears a resemblance to an undulating snake covered in ceramic tiles (made by Josep Maria Jujol, Antoni Gaudí’s collaborator). This square stands on the great ‘Room of the Hundred Columns’ (‘Sala de las cien columnas’) which look like giant stalagmites in a cave.
