Plaza España (Plaza Espanya in Catalan) is one of Barcelona's most important squares and the beautiful heart of the highly populated barrio called Sants. Right opposite Plaza España is located the huge Fira de Barcelona – a great complex home of major business expositions such as Alimentaria, Bread & Butter, SIL, etc.

The Sants quarter received a special boost during the Olympic Games of Barcelona in 1992. It has many beautiful and interesting sites such as the Olympic Stadium, the Palau Sant Jordi, the Museu National d'Art Catalunya (MNAC), the Poble Espanyol, the Fundació Joan Miró and the castle of Montjuïc. Just by Plaza Espanya are the famous Magic Fountains – an amazing and famous show of water, colours and music.
